Yi Pei Loh’s artwork shows the intervention of his imagination into his everyday life experiences and surroundings. He depicts imaginary cityscapes as well as distorted nature, showing the interplay between the real and fictional world. By illustrating the unreal and the impossible, the artist believes that fiction can inspire and explore how we look at and experience the everyday lives and surroundings. Executed with Chinese ink and watercolour on paper, the works reflect different aspects of contemporary life and culture. The works have stories to tell but, at the same time, aim to inspire audience generate their own.
