Curiosity Wood by Yi Pei Loh presents a mystical and mysterious forest that invites the viewers into the artist’s imaginary land which peculiar, strange and sensitive living things share their stories. The illustrated flora and fauna are metaphor of feelings and emotions of human being.
Watercolour and Chinese ink on paper weighs heavily in Yi Pei’s art practice. While being consistent in using the medium, Yi Pei explores a range of artistic styles and expression to tell different stories as he treats every single exhibition of his as an individual picture book.
